About Dirk
With a career in wealth management spanning three decades, Dirk takes an educational and consultative approach to providing advice. He incorporates the principles of modern finance as well as academic and professional research to help guide his clients through the often complex and counterintuitive world of investing and personal finance.
Dirk provides guidance to individuals and families throughout Silicon Valley and across the country. With the help of Buckingham’s deep bench, he creates holistic financial plans that address wealth and portfolio management, stock options strategies, tax strategies, wealth transfer considerations, real-estate consultation and retirement planning.
With a mission to provide conflict-free advice, Dirk left Morgan Stanley in the early ’90s to become an independent investment advisor. Before joining Buckingham, Dirk was a partner at Dan Goldie Financial Services, which was recognized as one of the top RIAs in the country with nearly $1 billion under management.
Passionate about helping those who are less fortunate, Dirk volunteers for several organizations including the Salvation Army of San Francisco, the Boy Scouts of America and the Guardsmen of San Francisco. Dirk graduated in 1990 with a degree in political economy after being accepted to Berkeley’s International & Area Studies Academic Program.
Dirk and his wife, Nicole, live with their two sons in Alamo, Calif. He enjoys a diverse life outside of work including tennis, skiing, surfing, biking and traveling with his family.
