About Alan
Alan has provided financial and tax planning services to clients since 2001, and he has a wide array of experience in personal financial matters. He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Personal Financial Planning Division, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).
Prior to joining Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2023, Alan was the managing director of financial and tax planning at Convergent Financial Strategies, which merged with Buckingham the same year.
Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has been a certified public accountant (CPA) since 1987 and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner since 2001. In 2002, he received his Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA. The PFS mark is the financial planning specialty accreditation held exclusively by CPAs who are members of the AICPA. He has also served on PICPA Personal Financial Planning Committee, including three years as committee chair, and on the NAPFA Northeast-MidAtlantic Region Board, Finance Committee, and Education Committee.
He and his family live in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Although his ties to his alma mater, Drexel University, are still strong, Alan also considers his family to be a George Washington University family as both daughters graduated from GWU: his older daughter in May 2014 and his younger daughter in May 2018. When not assisting his clients, Alan enjoys traveling with family and friends, and participating in community activities. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Hillel at Drexel University for over 10 years.
