Author and Director of Investor Advocacy for Buckingham and The BAM ALLIANCE Dan Solin has released The Smartest Sales Book You’ll Ever Read, the latest title in his best-selling ‘Smartest’ series of books. A departure from his focus on investments and personal finance, Solin’s latest work is intended to help business owners and others in the sales industry approach their role from a new perspective. “Over my career as a lawyer, investment advisor and author, I have ‘sold’ hundreds of millions of dollars of legal and financial advisory services and hundreds of thousands of books,” says Solin. “There are few mistakes I have not made. One stands out: I talked too much and listened too little. I placed a premium on conveying information and didn’t understand that the key to success was the ability to obtain it.’’ Solin conducted exhaustive research across hundreds of academic peer-reviewed studies that confirmed his suspicion that success rests on eliminating ‘selling’ by way of traditional one-sided presentations and instead relies on the arts of listening, learning, understanding and empathizing. In addition to outlining a new approach to sales Solin also shares in the book his findings on the important correlation between happiness, self-awareness and success.
