Buckingham Strategic Wealth Included in FT 300: Top Registered Investment Advisors 2019

Buckingham is honored to be named to the Financial Times (FT) special report, FT 300: Top Registered Investment Advisers 2019. The report assesses registered investment advisors (RIAs) on traits desirable to clients.

The list is presented as an elite group, not a competitive ranking, to account for the companies’ different approaches and specializations.

Our place on the list highlights our common purpose of doing the right thing and a shared set of values that guide our work together every day. It is a testament to the integrity and uncompromising standards we bring to the work we do with our clients.

To be considered for the list, an RIA must have reported $300 million or more in assets under management (AUM) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). RIAs have no subjective input, and the report presents the best RIAs across the U.S. listed by state.

FT selected 300 RIAs from more than 2,000 qualifying companies. FT calculates a numeric score for each company based on six broad factors. The areas of consideration include AUM, asset growth, company age, industry certifications, SEC compliance and online accessibility.

Each advisor receives a score with AUM accounting for 70%-75% and asset growth accounting for 15%-20%. FT caps the number of ranked companies from any one state loosely based on the distribution of millionaires across the U.S.

Third-party rankings and recognition from ratings services are no guarantee of future investment success. Working with a highly rated advisor does not ensure that a client or prospective client will experience a higher level of performance or results. Ratings should not be considered an endorsement of the advisor by any client nor are they representative of any one client’s evaluation.

The Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers is an independent listing produced annually (June 2019) by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research, a subsidiary of the Financial Times that provides business intelligence on the investment management industry. The FT 300 is based on data gathered from RIA firms, regulatory disclosures and Financial Times research. The listing reflected each practice’s performance in six primary areas: assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, industry certifications of key employees and online accessibility. This award does not evaluate the quality of services provided to clients and is not indicative of the firm’s future performance. Neither the RIA firms nor their employees pay a fee to the Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 300.
